North Carolina

By Geoff Pallay

RALEIGH, North Carolina: State House representative Daniel McComas (R) resigned from his seat earlier this month after he was appointed by Governor Bev Perdue (D) as the Chair of the North Carolina State Ports Authority.[1]

McComas had already decided against running for re-election in 2012.[2]

Ted Davis, Jr. was nominated as a temporary replacement for McComas' seat. Davis is already running for election in the district. He will face Emilie Swearingen (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]
