North Dakota Measure 1 (Primary) (1990) was a measure to remove the Lt. Governor as Presiding Officer of the Senate. This ballot measure was referred to the primary ballot by the North Dakota State Legislature. It failed with 40.4% of voters in favor.
Text of measure
This proposed constitutional amendment removes the lieutenant governor as the presiding officer of the state senate and requires the presiding officer of the senate to be elected from the membership of the senate. (S.L. 1989, ch. 793/SCR 4005)
