The North Dakota Salaries of Public Officials Referendum, also known as Amendment 8, was on the September 5, 1978 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have made all fees and profits arising from any of the offices whose salaries were prescribed by law be deposited in the state treasury.
