The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Patty J. Bentley was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[1][2][3]

Bentley ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 139. Bentley and Thomas Coogle defeated Michael Dinkins in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012, moving on to a runoff on August 21. The runoff primary between Bentley and Coogle remained too close to call.[4] No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6][7]Bentley ran unopposed in the general election.[8]
