Paul B. Kanarek is a judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by former Governor Bob Martinez in December of 1987, effective Jan. 4. He replaced C. Pfeiffer Trowbridge. His current term expires in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4]


Kanarek received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida in 1972 and 1975, respectively.[1][5]


Kanarek began his career in 1975 as an Assistant Public Defender in the 19th Circuit. He became the Chief Assistant Public Defender in 1979. The following year, he left that position and started his own law practice. He worked in that capacity until he was appointed to the circuit court in 1987.[1]

2012 election

Kanarek was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[6]
