Barber ran in the 2012 election for New Mexico House of Representatives District 68. Barber, Max Barnett, and Claudette M. Chavez-Hankins were defeated by Monica C. Youngblood in the Republican primary on June 5, 2012. Incumbent Thomas Garcia (D) is not running for re-election. Youngblood will face Democrat Eloise Gift in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
