Paul Weissmann is a former Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 12 from 2003 to 2011. He served as Majority Leader during his last term. He served in the Colorado State Senate from 1993 to 1996.


Weissmann's professional experience includes working a substitute teacher in Denver Public Schools and bartender/Manager at the Blue Parrot Restaurant.[1]

Weissmann provided answers to the Colorado State Legislative Election 2008 Political Courage Test. The test informs voters how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected. When asked his legislative priorities he stated, "Top priority needs to be untangling the budget mess caused by conflicting Constitutional Amendments and then prioritizing our spending in a flexible framework. The SAFE initiative will start us down that path."[2]

Weissmann was ineligible to run for re-election to the 12th District seat due to the term limits of the Colorado House of Representatives.


On November 4, 2008, Weissmann won re-election to the 12th District seat in the Colorado House of Representatives, defeating opponent Daniel M. Lucas (R).[3]
