The question on the ballot:

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 3 (West Pierce Fire & Rescue) adopted Resolution No. 051711-

007 concerning a proposition to finance maintenance and operation expenses. If passed, Proposition No. 1 would allow the District to levy the following excess property taxes on all taxable property within the District without regard to the levy rate and percentage limitations in Chapter 84.52 RCW: Levy Year Collection Year Approximate Levy Rate Levy Amount Per $1,000 of Assessed Value: 2011-2012 $1.08 $8,700,499 2012-2013 $1.19 $9,239,224 to be used for maintenance and operations to maintain the current level of fire and emergency medical services, all as provided in Resolution No. 051711-007.[3]
