Pierce County Fire District 6 Levy Additions, 2 (August 2011)

Two Pierce County Fire District 6 Levy Addition measures were on the August 16, 2011 ballot in the fire district 6 area which is in Pierce County.

Both measures were approved

The first measure sought to add to the current district levy by a rate of $.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further six years in order to help pay for emergency medical services in the district.[1]

The second measure sought to impose a benefit charge for a period of six years which would not exceed 60 percent of its budget.[2]

Shall Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 6 (Central Pierce Fire & Rescue) be authorized to impose regular property tax levies of $.50 or less per $1,000 of assessed valuation for each of six consecutive years, beginning in 2012, to fund emergency medical services, including advanced life support (paramedic) services?

Shall Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 6 (Central Pierce Fire & Rescue) be authorized to impose benefit charges each year for six years, not to exceed an amount equal to sixty percent of its operating budget, and be prohibited from imposing an additional property tax under RCW 52.16.160?
