Pittsburgh-area DA probing ACORN voter sign-ups. The Pittsburgh district attorney is investigating possible forgery and irregularities in registration forms submitted by ACORN, an organization already under investigation in several states.
Many registration forms contain errors
ACORN along with other organizations submitted over 250,000 registration forms in Philadelphia this year. While many were rejected because the individuals applying were already registered, about 5000 are questionable because of non-existent addresses and others are being rejected due to incorrect birthdays, social security numbers, or being too young. While some people assert that workers are being pressured to submit forms based on unspoken quotas, ACORN maintains that their employees are paid by the hour and should have no reason to forge registrations.
