A Plumsted School District Tax Increase measure was on the April 20, 2010 ballot in the Plumsted township school district which is in Ocean County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 564 (31.58%)
  • NO 1,222 (68.42%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase local property taxes by around 4 percent, which meant that an average home in the district would have paid an additional $152 annually in property taxes towards the school district. Regardless of the tax increase, the school board plans on teacher and program cuts throughout the district, due to large cuts in state spending even with the increase in taxes the budget shortfall would still not be met.[2]
