A Port Orchard Annexation by Kitsap Library District measure was on the August 17, 2010 ballot in the city of Port Orchard which is in Kitsap County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,491 (71.58%)Approveda
  • NO 592 (28.42%)[1]

This measure sought to allow the city of Port Orchard to be annexed into the Kitsap County library district. This will allow residents in the city a say in new tax measures or other ballot issues concerning the library district. The Library board had to approve this measure before it was officially put on the August ballot.[2] Though the city is neutral on the issue, officials stated the no official campaign would take place from the city because the measure spoke for itself. The city also had to find $5,000 to fund the election because the county was not obliged by law to fund it.[3]
