Policypedia, a new project of the Lucy Burns Institute, aims to illuminate major policy issues currently being discussed and implemented throughout the United States at all levels of government. Policy subjects can be complicated and controversial. Deciding what works best and how to allocate resources to achieve a policy goal can involve multiple trade-offs. Our coverage is neutral, nonpartisan and comprehensive, written in language understandable to the non-specialist. Policypedia is now covering six major policy areas: energy policy, education policy, pension policy, budget policy, environmental policy and electoral policy. Policy decisions matter because they affect citizens in many ways, but especially economically, legally and socially. Our goal is to help readers discover and learn useful information, so they can participate in public policy discussions and vote for candidates and initiatives aligned with their values and interests.
