  • NO 13.36%[1]

This measure sought to change a local ordinance which restricts the space the library building can occupy in Library Park. The group advocating this measure was the Expand Our Library committee and they sought a repeal of the ordinance and add 6,000 square feet to the current building as well as remodel and renovate the current facility. The park will still be left with 85 percent of open park space.[2] Library advocates noted that there will be no down side to local residents as the money to pay for the library expansion is already set aside so there would be no additional tax to local residents. The expansion will also include upgrading library technology and bringing the facility up to date. Also, with the expansion there will be around a year of jobs for local residents which was also be seen as a benefit.[3]
