Rafael del Castillo was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of Hawaii. Castillo was defeated by Tulsi Gabbard in the Democratic primary.[1]

Castillo has worked as a partner in a law firm in Wahiawa, Hawaii since January 2002.[2]

Castillo ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Hawaii's 2nd District. Castillo sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[3] The signature filing deadline was June 5, 2012, with the primary taking place on August 11, 2012.

Castillo was defeated by Tulsi Gabbard in the Democratic primary.[1]

Castillo met his wife, Lea, in 1973. They have been married since September 27, 1980 and moved to Hawai`i in 1987. They have four daughters and two grandchildren[4]
