Raymond E. Gallison, Jr. (b. March 23, 1952) is a former Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 69 from 2001 to May 3, 2016. Gallison resigned from the legislature due to personal reasons, but he is reportedly under federal investigation.[1][2]

Biography

Gallison earned his B.A. from Rhode Island College in 1974 and his J.D. from Southern New England School of Law in 1989. His professional experience includes working as a Veterans' Advisor of the Council for Senator Jack Reed, in employee relations for the Rhode Island Department of Mental Health from 1998 to 2000, as a self-employed attorney since 2000 and as a consultant for Alternative Educational Programming since 2000.[3]

Elections for the Rhode Island House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 25, 2014. Incumbent Raymond Gallison, Jr. was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[4][5][6]

Gallison won re-election to the 69th District seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary and defeated Republican William Grapentine in the general election on November 2, 2010.[10][11]

In 2008, Gallison was re-elected to the Rhode Island House District 69. Gallison (D) finished with 3,764 votes while his opponent William Grapentine (R) finished with 1,685 votes.[12] Gallison raised $11,360 for his campaign fund.[13]
