A Reorganized School District R-III Levy Increase measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the R-III school district area of Lincoln County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 4,025 (56.93%)Approveda
  • NO 3,045 (43.07%)[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax by a rate of $.75 per $100 of assessed value for a continuing period of time in order to help pay for maintenance of school facilities as well as general operational expenses.[2] If this measure had not gotten approved, students from one elementary school would have been distributed to the two remaining schools resulting in larger class sizes. The district had seen continued growth over the past few years and without the extra money additional teachers would not have been able to be hired to help with the growing student population. School officials were stressing the need and the small amount on average, near $15 a month in additional taxes, residents will have to pay to ensure school services.[3]
