A Resort Township Fire Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Resort, which is in Emmet County.

This measure sought to renew the current fire levy which is set at a rate of $.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further four years in order to continue to pay for fire protection and medical services in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the previous voted increase in tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution of General Ad Valorem Taxes within Resort Township be renewed up to .50 mills ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of Fire and Medical First Responder protection: and shall the township levy such renewal in millage for said purpose, thereby raising in the first year an estimated $140,000.00.[3]
