Richard Sykes (b. April 20, 1942) is a Republican member of the Maine House of Representatives. He represented the 98th District from 2002 to 2010. In 2010, Sykes was ineligible to run under Maine's term limits.

Sykes served as Principal of Lewiston High School from 1986-2001. He has previously served as Principal of Lake Region High School, Assistant Principal of Cape Elizabeth High School, Teacher of Cape Elizabeth School District, and served in the United States Army Reserve.

Sykes is Treasurer of the Harrison Fire Department, member of the National Association of Secondary Principals Board of Directors, and is past President of Maine Principal's Association.[1]
