Richard Young (b. December 2, 1942) is a Democratic member of the Indiana State Senate, representing District 47 and serving as Minority Leader Pro Tempore. He was first elected to the chamber in 1988. He previously served as Crawford County Auditor.

Biography

Young earned his A.B. in Behavioral Sciences from Vincennes University. His professional experience includes working as President/Board Chair of E and S Distributors, Incorporated and owner of Blue River Valley Farms.

Young, Jr. was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Erin Houchin defeated Harris Lloyd "Tad" Whitis in the Republican primary. Young will face Houchin in the general election.[1][2]
