Ricky Smith holds the Region 2 seat of the Pocono Mountain school board. He was initially elected to the chamber in 1994 and won re-election on November 5, 2013.

Biography

Smith is a lifetime resident of the District. He formerly served as a Tobyhanna Township supervisor, a member of Monroe County General Authority, and chairman of the Tobyhanna Township Planning Commission. He received a Bachelor of Arts and MBA degrees from Wilkes University. Smith is the Vice President of Strategic Programs and Projects at Sanofi Pasteur Inc. in Swiftwater. Smith lives in Jackson Township and has four children.[1]

What was at stake?

Five seats were at stake in the November 5 election. Smith and John Coyle were the only incumbents seeking re-election. Region 1 representative Ed Mayotte bid for re-election ended following a loss in the primary.
