There was a Riverdale City Improvement Fund Tax Measure B on the November 3 ballot in Scott County for voters in the city of Riverdale.

The measure was approved.[1]

  • No: 72 (44.44%)

This measure created a Capital Improvements Reserve Fund for the city by enacting a $.67 tax on property within the city. The tax will last twenty years and would begin the beginning of 2010. The money will be used towards purchasing new fire trucks, general capital improvements and maintenance to the fire trucks already owned and also street repair.[2]

The ballot read:

"Shall the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa establish a Capital Improvements Reserve Fund and levy taxes at a rate not to exceed sixty-seven and one-half cents per thousand dollars of taxable value each year, for a period not to exceed twenty years, commencing with the levy for the fiscal year 2010, payable in fiscal years ending June 30, 2011 through June 30, 2031, for the purpose of the purchase of new fire trucks, the funding of capital maintenance and re-equipping of existing fire trucks, and also for street repair, replacement, placement, and maintenance in the City of Riverdale, Iowa?"[2]
