Robert Willis recall, Rock Hall, Maryland (2014)
An effort to recall Robert Willis from his position as Mayor of Rock Hall, Maryland is underway. Recall supporters are currently trying to change the town charter to allow for recall of elected officials.
The effort to recall Willis initiated over disputes between the Willis and the town council, which began in late April 2013. Willis had tried to use his authority as Mayor on town matters without conferring with the council on multiple occasions, something to which the council strongly objected. In July the Council passed a motion prohibiting the mayor for conducting any business on behalf of the town without their explicit consent.
Willis' term expires in April 2015.

After seeking to initiate a recall of Willis, recall supporters discovered there were no provisions in the town charter for removing elected officials. State law does not provide for recall either. Recall supporters, including the town council, are currently drafting a proposal to add recall language.
