Rubicon Exceed Revenue Limit (2008)

The Rubicon Exceed Revenue Limit was a school bond issue on the September 9 ballot in the Rubicon Joint #6 School District, which is in both Dodge and Washington counties. The purpose of the referendum was to exceed state-set revenue limits by $150,000 per year for three years (totaling $450,000 overall). The additional funds will be used to help pay basic operating costs of the school.

"The owner of a $100,000 home will see an additional $19 on their tax bill in the first year; $13 the second year and $66 in the third and final year."[1]

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the School Board of the Rubicon Joint #6 School District, Town of Rubicon and Hartford, City of Hartford, Dodge and Washington Counties, Wisconsin, that the revenues included in the School District budget beginning with the 2008-2009 school year and ending with the 2010-2011 school year be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes by $150,000 per year, for non-recurring purposes consisting of operating expenses

Passed: 132 voted "yes" and 91 voted "no."
