Sandra Williams
Sandra Williams (Democratic Party) was a member of the Ohio State Senate, representing District 21. She assumed office on January 1, 2015. She left office on June 6, 2022.
Williams (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Ohio House of Representatives to represent District 18. She did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.
Williams resigned on June 6, 2022 from the Ohio State Senate to accept a job in the private sector.[1]
Williams previously served in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 11 from 2007 to 2014. She was ineligible to run for re-election to the House in 2014 because of term limits.
Biography
Williams earned her B.A. in political science from Cleveland State University and her M.S. in criminal justice administration from Tiffin University. Her professional experience includes working as a legislative aide, an administrative assistant in the United States Army Reserve and a corrections officer for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 5, 2014. Sandra Williams defeated Gerald Carver Henley and Willie Lewis Britt in the Democratic primary, while Sikiru Kafaru was unopposed in the Republican primary. Williams defeated Kafaru in the general election.[3]

Noteworthy events
Ethics violation
On October 31, 2014, Rep. Sandra Williams entered a no-contest plea and was found guilty of two first-degree misdemeanors related to the sale of $2,255 worth of Ohio State football tickets that she purchased with campaign funds.[17]
On December 5, 2014, Williams was fined and given a suspended six-month jail sentence. The judge fined her $2,225 and placed her on one year of non-reporting probation.[18]
