The measure was defeated.
- YES 5,708 (48.15%)
- NO 6,146 (51.85%)
This measure sought to add to the current mental health levy by a rate of .8 mills in order to fund mental health services offered in the county. The County had tried since 2006 to get this levy approved, the most recent attempt was in November 2011. County officials noted that Sandusky county was the only county in the northwest part of the state without a levy to help pay for mental health services. Currently the Board has to place people on waiting lists for services and even turn others away, if the levy had been approved that would not have to happen.
