The superintendent of the School District of Pickens County is Dr. Danny Merck, who was appointed to the position in April 2014. He has 23 years of experience as a teacher, coach and assistant principal. Prior to accepting the position at Pickens County, Merck had been serving as the principal of Daniel High School. His annual salary is $120,000.[4]
