SACRAMENTO, California: Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a legal filing Tuesday that Proposition 8 should be reviewed in federal court.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Kenneth Mennemeier, a lawyer for Schwarzenegger, said in papers filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco that the case "presents important constitutional questions that require and warrant judicial determination." The papers were filed in response to a suit against state officials arguing that Prop 8 violates the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of due process and equal protection.[1]
