Selah School District Bond Measure (April 2011)
This measure was defeated because it did not reach the 60% super majority needed to be approved.

This was the second attempt by the school district to get this measure approved. This measure sought to issue a bond measure in the amount of $40 million in order to help construct and make improvements to school facilities in the district. The previous vote in February resulted in 58% approval, but it had needed 60% to be approved. School officials were hoping more will see the school's needs and the low rates to build and approve the measure again. On April 7, parents, teachers and supporters of the bond proposal walked down the main street in the city in order to show their support for the bond and to get others to notice the importance of the issue. Others had signs that told people it was 'OK' to vote No.

|The Board of Directors of Selah School District No. 119 adopted Resolution No. 02-11 concerning a proposition to finance construction and improvement of school facilities. This proposition would authorize the District to construct a new junior high school (Grades 6-8) to replace Selah Junior High School, expand Selah High School to accommodate the addition of 9th Grade, make safety improvements at John Campbell Elementary, upgrade instructional technology, and demolish select buildings at Lince Elementary; issue no more than $39,949,868 of general obligation bonds maturing within 21 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, as provided in Resolution No. 02-11.|
