Shawn Lucas Fluharty is a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 3 of the West Virginia House of Delegates.[1]

Biography

Fluharty graduated in 2006 from the West Virginia University Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism with a B.S. in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. He earned his J.D. from West Virginia University's College of Law in 2009.[2]

Elections for the office of West Virginia House of Delegates will take place in 2014. A primary election took place May 13, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 25, 2014. District 3 is represented by two delegates. Holli Smith and Shawn Fluharty defeated Dave Palmer in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Erikka Storch and Dolph Santorine defeated Chris Elswick and Martin Sheehan in the Republican primary. Smith, Fluharty, Santorine and Storch will face off in the general election. Incumbent Ryan Ferns (R) is running for District 5 of the West Virginia State Senate.[1][4]

Fluharty ran in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 3. Fluharty and incumbent Ryan Ferns advanced unopposed in the May 8 primary election. He was challenged by Erikka Storch, Ryan Ferns, and Larry Tighe in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6][7]
