The South Dakota State Cement Plant Sale Trust Fund Amendment, also known as Amendment A, was on the April 10, 2001 ballot in South Dakota as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure placed the proceeds from the state cement plant sale into a trust fund to be invested. The measure designated that $12 million of the trust fund be transferred to the state general fund on on annual basis and that any additional earnings on the fund be used to support education.[1][2]
