The South Dakota Unclaimed Property Office Referendum, also known as Referendum 2, was on the November 3, 1998 ballot in South Dakota as a veto referendum, where it was defeated. The measure would have transferred the unclaimed property office from the state treasurer to the secretary of revenue.[1][2]
