South Sioux City Sales Tax (May 2010)

There was a South Sioux City Sales Tax measure on the May 11 ballot in Dakota County for voters in the city of South Sioux.

This measure was approved

  • YES 499 Approveda
  • NO 463[1]

This measure asked voters to approve a sales tax increase, the city residents paid $.50 in sales taxes to the city for capital projects. Since this was approved, the money generated from the sales tax will be used for covering the city's debt, repair city streets, replace the storage area for the fire trucks and expand the city's property base. Since this was approved this will be in place for a further four years.[2]
