Speedway School District Levy Addition (May 2010)

There was a Speedway School District Levy Addition on the May 4 ballot in Marion County for voters in the Speedway school district.

This measure was approved with 85.7% of voters in favor.[1]

This measure asked voters to increase the collected property tax by 59 cents per $100 of assessed value. Since it was approved, a further $3.4 million will be collected by the school district in 2011 and the tax will be in place for seven years. The school district is in need of funding due to large statewide cuts made to education.[2]
