A Springvale Township Library Levy Increase proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Emmet County, which is in Michigan where it was defeated.

Shall Springvale Township impose an increase of up to .4 mills ($0.40 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for 5 years, 2012 through 2016 inclusive, for contractual Library Services with Petoskey Public Library, which .4 mills increase will raise an estimated $34,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied.
