Stanford M. Adelstein is a former Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 32 from 2008 to December 2013. He resigned in December 2013 for health reasons.[1]

Adelstein served in the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2001 to 2005. He joined the South Dakota State Senate in 2005 and served until 2007, but lost the Republican primary election in 2006.

Adelstein is the President and CEO of Northwestern Engineering Company.

On Nov. 4, 2008, Adelstein won election to the 32nd District Seat in the South Dakota State Senate, defeating opponents Elli Schwiesow (I) and incumbent Thomas Katus (D).[3]
