Steve Tataii was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from Hawaii.

Tataii was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Hawaii. Tataii sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[1] Tataii would have run against Michael Gillespie , Antonio Gimbernat, Mazie Hirono, Arturo Reyes, and Ed Case in the Democratic primary. Candidates John Carroll, Charles Collins, John Roco, Linda Lingle, and Eddie Pirkowski ran in the Republican primary. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was June 5, 2012. The primary elections were held on August 11, 2012.

Tataii initially filed to run, but his name failed to appear on the certified candidate list for the primary election.[2]
