Steve Wisniewski was a candidate for the Region 8 seat on the Downingtown Area school board in Pennsylvania. He won the Republican primary on May 21, 2013 but withdrew from the race.

What was at stake?

Four seats on the Downingtown Area School Board were at stake in the November election, including Vice President Barbara Hurt-Simmons' seat. Incumbents Hurt-Simmons, Bob Yorczyk, and Suzanne DiVito Simonelli sought re-election. The new board will need to address continuing financial challenges in the district.
