'Steven M. Dean is a 2014 Republican candidate for District 35 of the Alabama House of Representatives.

Dean was a Republican candidate for District 35 of the Alabama House of Representatives.

Biography

Dean attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then began working for a automotive industry supplier. He opened his own machine shop in 1991. He has worked in this position since then. Dean has also taught machining, blueprint reading, and PLC Training at the Honda campus of AIDT. Dean and his wife, Cheryl, have two sons and a foster son.

Elections for the office of Alabama House of Representatives will consist of a primary election on June 3, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2013. Stephanie Engle is unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Steve Hurst will face Steven M. Dean in the Republican primary.[1][2]

Dean defeated Benjamin Crawford and Donald Wood in the primary. He was then defeated by Steve Hurst (D) in the general election. The primary election was on June 1, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010.[3][4][5]
