Tucker's political experience began when she joined the Governor's Commission on School Readiness and the Andover Democratic Town Committee. For ten years, 1982 to 1992, she served as a representative of Massachusetts.
Tucker's professional experience includes teaching at Lexington and Andover public schools, directing education and managing quality, an working as a strategic planner and benchmarking under her own supervision.
Tucker earned her Bachelor's degree at Michigan State University.

Susan Tucker currently serves on a number of legislative committees, including the Economic Development and Emerging Technologies Committee, the Education Committee, the Financial Services Committee, the Housing Committee, the Revenue Committee, the Telecommunication, Utilities and Energy Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee
