Tawanna P. Gaines (b. February 1, 1952) is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 22 and serving as Deputy Majority Whip. She was first appointed to the chamber on December 21, 2001.

The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Incumbents Tawanna P. Gaines, Anne Healey and Alonzo T. Washington defeated Rushern Baker IV in the Democratic primary. Lynn White was unopposed in the Republican primary.[1][2]
