On November 5, 2002, Rush D. Holt, Jr. won re-election to the United States House. He defeated DeForest "Buster" Soaries (R), Carl J. Mayer (Independent/Green), Thomas D. Abrams (Independent/Libertarian) and Karen Ann Zaletel (Independent/NJ Conservative) in the general election.[1]
