The Tennessee Coalition for Open Government is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee that advocates for open records and open meetings in that state.

It was founded in 2004, with charter members including the Middle and East Tennessee professional chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters, Common Cause, and others.[1]

The executive director of the coalition is Frank Gibson, the former government editor of The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville. The current head of the TCOG board of directors is Tom Griscom, publisher and executive editor of the Chattanooga Times-Free Press newspaper.[1]

In 2004, TCOG undertook the first statewide public records audit in Tennessee history.[1]

TCOG maintains a website and, in 2009, launched a blog.
