Tobias Read (b. 1975) is a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives, representing District 27. He was first elected to the chamber in 2006. In the 2013 session, Read serves as Majority Whip.

Read is a former Deputy Majority Whip. Read has been a legislative aide to Oregon State Representative Bryan Johnson, and Development Officer for United States Treasury Secretary Lawrence H. Summers, Willamette University.

Biography

Read earned his bachelor's in Politics and Economics at Willamette University and his M.B.A. from the University of Washington. His professional experience includes being a product developer for Nike, a founding board member of Hoopla and serving on the Advisory Board for Willamette University Athletic Department.[1]

Elections for the office of Oregon House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place May 20, 2014. The general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Tobias Read was unopposed in the Democratic primary. He is also running as a write-in candidate on the Republican party ticket. Robert Martin is running as a Libertarian candidate. Read and Martin will face off in the general election.[2][3]
