Tommie Brown (b. June 25, 1934) is a former Democratic member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing the 28th District from 1993-2012.

Brown has worked as an Associate Professor of Social Work for the University of Chattanooga Foundation. She also worked as a Social Worker and Educator but is now retired.

Brown earned her B.A. from Dillard University. She went on to receive her MSW from Washington University - Saint Louis. She then earned her PhD and DSW from Columbia University.

Brown was re-elected to the 28th District seat in 2010. She defeated Republican Teresa Wood in the general election on November 2, 2010. Brown was unopposed in August 5 primary.[5][6]
