Tommie Williams is a Republican member of the Georgia State Senate, representing District 19. He was first elected to the chamber in 1998.

Williams served as Senate Majority Leader from 2005 to 2008 and currently serves as Senate President Pro Tempore, a position he has held since 2009.

Biography

Williams earned his B.S. from the University of Georgia and his M.A. in Education from Georgia Southern University. His professional experience includes working as a public school teacher, Deacon for the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, onion farmer and founding Georgia Pine Straw, Incorporated.
