  • NO 466 (21.43%)

Proposition 2

  • YES 1,735 (79.73%) Approveda
  • NO 441 (20.27%)[1]

These two school bonds needed a super majority, over 60 percent, in order to pass and both went well above that percentage need. The school superintendent was happy with the outcome and planning the construction projects that can now occur.[2]

The first bond proposed sought to create a bond in the amount of $22 million which would be used for various construction projects throughout the district.[3] The school district plans to use the bond money to build a new High School and change locations for student classes to better suit future needs. They would also later remodel and upgrade grove Elementary school.[4]

The second measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $1 million in order to help upgrade the school's public transportation system.[3] Specifically the money generate would go towards replacing nine old buses and outfitting the rest with GPS systems. The main purpose of replacing the buses was to have more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles being used by the school.[4]
