Recent changes of note

  • Ohio: A bill passed by the Ohio Legislature and the subsequent appeals to federal courts have resulted in last minute rulings surrounding the state's early voting requirements.

Welcome to our community! --Bailey Ludlam, Ballotpedia's managing editor

BaileyL--I cannot figure out from your message below what citations are needed that are not already supplied. I am clearly having some trouble putting the code into the text properly, but I thought I had citations for everything (and sometimes two) that I added. I have personal knowledge of the events I am writing about, and it took me nearly two hours to track down the information and add it. If it is simply going to be "rolled back" I will not bother with other additions. In fact, today I came to the "Repeal SBT" site because I had another cite for a document that was relevant and I have now found online. I have no idea how to contact you, BaileyL, so unless you read this I may just stop adding and correcting.

EconMich - Thank you very much for your contributions to several Michigan related articles. I have rolled back your edits on Michigan Term Limits Amendment, Proposal B (1992). Although the changes appear to be accurate, specific citations (URL, if reference to constitution for example - provide specific article/section information, date retrieved or date of article, etc.) are required. (see below) We can definitely re-implement your changes once citations are provided. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, Michigan Single Business Tax Repeal (2006) - thank you for correcting the fact that was it was not a initiated constitutional amendment. I further corrected the intro to our standards to reflect that the measure was instead a indirect initiated state statute. Like the previously mentioned article, the references need to be corrected. Some are missing URLs, others do not include the newspaper/website name, headline, or date. Let me know if you have any questions about making those changes. Thanks again for your contributions. Follow-up on Michigan articles

Hi EconMich. I have gone through both of the articles you edited recently which were rolled back due to problems with references. I have reviewed every edit that you made and checked the related links as well as added links to support the recent edits, which were factual and added a great deal of content. You can see the most recent edits for Prop B (1992) here and edits for SBT (2006) here. I hope this helps clarify any questions you had about citations.

If you have any questions you can contact me at any time on my talk page or email me at bdludlam@ballotpedia.org. I also want to assure you that your edits, even if "rolled back" are never lost. Generally we roll back edits that do not follow Ballotpedia's guidelines either until the user makes the necessary changes or until staff can review the edits. Thank you again for your contributions!! BaileyL 13:25, 18 October 2011 (CDT)

Thank you for contributing to Ballotpedia.

You recently added some information to an article without providing a source such as a citation or footnote.

It is important to provide a citation or reference to justify adding information so that readers can assess the legitimacy of the information for themselves.

This tutorial explains in detail how to add footnotes.

Ballotpedia staff has added references to the information you recently added on Ballotpedia. In the future, the information you add will be removed if you do not provide a source.

Thank you!
