Welcome to our community! --Bailey Ludlam, Ballotpedia's managing editor

Hello, welcome to Ballotpedia! I noticed the article you created called Mohammad "O" Arif. Thank you for bringing to our attention that Arif is running for governor in 2010! However, it was necessary to remove some of the information because it appeared to violate some of Ballotpedia's contribution guidelines. To learn how to contribute please visit our "getting started" page. Please let me know if you have any questions. BaileyL 08:25, 23 March 2010 (CDT)

Welcome

Welcome to Ballotpedia. A couple of things:

  • You registered under the user name "Mohammad "O" Arif", and you have been editing a page about a political candidate with that name, that is, this page about Mohammad "O" Arif. Ballotpedia has a policy that if someone uses the same user name as a candidate or as a subject of one of its articles, that user needs to confirm that they are the same person as that candidate/article subject. The reason for this policy is that it prevents the problem of someone who is not that person or candidate signing up and using that person's name as a user name, as if they were that person. So if you could please confirm that you are the Mohammad Arif who is the Peace and Freedom Party candidate, that would be good.
  • I added an infox to the Mohammad "O" Arif and to do that, I had to upload your photo. I assume that you are the real Arif, and that you would give permission to use your photo, but we need to check on that to make sure no one's photo copyright is being violated.
  • You can also sign up to take a webinar if you would like to learn more about editing, or you can also ask me any questions on my talk page.

Good luck! Polycal 09:42, 3 April 2010 (CDT)

Duplicate pages

There is a page called Mohammad Arif and a page called Mohammad "O" Arif. These should be merged into one page. If you don't have a preference, I will merge them into the Mohammad "O" Arif page. Leslie Graves 11:13, 17 May 2010 (CDT)
