COLUMBIA, South Carolina: On May 25, Ted Vick (D) announced the end of his candidacy for South Carolina's 7th Congressional District. Vick was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the early morning hours of Thursday, May 24. Vick was also found to be in possession of a pistol. He has been charged with speeding, DUI, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Vick is continuing his run for House District 53. His primary opponent was disqualified by the recent state Supreme Court ruling which removed many legislative candidates from the ballot. Vick faces Republican Richie Yow in the November 6 general election.[1]
